Rod Beattie

Rod Beattie

Rod is excited to be back on stage at Theatre Orangeville – this time with a ghostly tale for the Christmas season.

A veteran of 18 seasons and over 50 productions with the Stratford Festival (most recently as Cardinal Wolsey in Henry VIII and Francis Nurse in The Crucible in the 2019 season), Rod Beattie is one of the most respected and versatile actors in Canadian theatre. His extensive credits include radio, television, film and live performances across the country.

For over 35 years Rod has performed the Wingfield series of one-man plays, written by Dan Needles, which has brought him acting awards, rave reviews and sold-out houses in communities large and small across Canada. Awards for Rod's performances in the Wingfield plays include a Dora, a Sterling, a Gemini and the Critics' Award (Sarasota, Florida).
